Handmade Items at Good Prices
We're open to the public, and you're welcome to come in and browse any time of the year. All items in the shop are made by Sun City Oro Valley residents, who staff the shop, too. So when you're there and purchase something you like, the person who counts out your change, or processes your credit card, might be the person who made your item!
Some of the women who make items for the gift shop also spend one or two mornings a week making clothing, quilts, and duffle bags for needy children. In fact, the sale of some items in the gift shop will be used to purchase things like fabric and thread to make these gifts for the children. Likewise, some of the men spend hours in the woodworking shop making handmade toys that are donated to needy kids, especially at holiday time.
Exactly what's in the shop?
Gifts aren't always for somebody else! (Every now and then, you deserve a gift for yourself.) If you see a piece of jewelry or decor that you like, go ahead ... get it ... you deserve this beautiful item! These photos give you a general idea of what you can find in the shop—items of decor, clothing, wearable art, greeting cards—in media from metal, clay, ceramics, stained glass, paper, and fabric.
Clearance Sale Every Month
The shop has a clearance sale on the second Monday of every month, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (except for the summer months of June through September). The sale earned the nickname "Monday Madness" because one of the folks who runs the sale kept saying to consignors, "You must be crazy to sell this at such a low price! How can you make any money with prices like that?" You'll find the Monday Madness items, with their crazy prices, on tables arranged on the sidewalk outside the shop. Check it out! Second Monday of the month. Rain or shine.
